Meritphase|Moreover, Six Sigma is not as difficult as it may seem. In the time of overall simplification it’s making Sigma really up-to-date.Now this methodology is mostly known as Lean 6 Sigma. So, what does it mean:“Lean manufacturing” - what do we do to reduce our production losses (wastes) and speeding up production processes; standardized solutions are welcome;

“Six Sigma” - main goal it's improving the quality of products and, as a consequence, increasing customer loyalty; the basis of solutions is an information analysis (it can be often completely non-standard).Six Sigma, in simple words, is a method of statistical analysis that helps make the process of reducing the wastes manageable and stable.

To get One Sigma you need to divide the average value (for example percentage of purchases on your website) by the statistical control D2 (see Shewhart Maps). This will be the value of One Sigma.To get our 6 Sigma, we take our average value and subtract 3 sigma down and add 3 sigma up. This is the boundary of our process prediction. With this formula, you can control absolutely any process in any period of time having a sufficient amount of statistical source data.

Using this boundary limits we can easily eliminate the defect rate during production, extending manufacturing capabilities and improving productivity.

We can even understand the statistics of the weather influence on our process, any particular options (which we can't control), we can determine and exclude to optimize production, and this process is endless. Thus, you find the cause of inefficiency one after another, constantly improving your business, if you are the owner of an enterprise or a small process, or if you are a “workhorse”.

This method from the 90s is used everywhere, in medicine and in sports, in business and in agriculture.

It's just a basic thing, of course, a small part of the theory.
